Treasurer's Report- Sarah Healy

After some discussion it was decided that we will visit about an amount that we would not let the Priest Fund go below.  We will discuss further when Sarah is here. Doug made a motion to except the financials.  Rita seconded and the motion carried.

Old Business:

1.      Selling the Sprayer:  Frank has had a few inquiries but they never contacted him again.  He also put flyers up around town. The sprayer is back in the garage.

2.      Labyrinth Committee: Frank spoke with Kamme and she agreed to be on the committee.  Shirley is going to look into possibly applying for a grant from a nonprofit other than the Diocese Foundation.

New Business

1.      Field out Front:  Ron mowed down the field this week.  Sam is going to get some quotes from 2 possible choices to spray the field for us.

2.      Altar Guild:  Sam let the vestry know that we are in need of new cruets.  The plan is to order them and then get them engraved in memory of Shirley Runge.  Also ECW purchased new candles for the altar.  They have not arrived yet.  They are metal on top to avoid melting the plastic tops again.

3.      Land at the Bottom of the Hill:  After discussion we walked to the bottom of the hill to see what is being done.  They appear to have been digging up grass at the base of the hill.  We have not been contacted by the owner of the motel and have agreed that we have no interest in selling any of our land.  Doug made the motion that we contact Mike Donnell about having our property line at the base of the hill measured out for us.  Frank seconded and the motion carried.

4.      Smoke Detectors and Fire Extinguishers: As Jim is on the Diocesan Property Committee, he has been observing the kind of things they are finding that need improved at other churches in the state.  At the top is smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors and fire extinguishers.  We currently have no smoke detectors and only one carbon monoxide detector and 4 fire extinguishers that need to be checked.  Sam made a motion that we contact Frandson Safety to get a quote on having smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors installed and getting the fire extinguishers checked.  Carolyn seconded and the motion carried.

Reports:

1.                  Rector’s Report-The Rev. Jim Stewart: Jim let us know that he will be starting a new class taught by Allen Doyle via zoom in August.  St. Christopher’s services are going well this summer and the picnic is this weekend.  He will be playing John Roberts in a play being put on in Thermopolis.  Jim has 3 weeks’ vacation left.  He will be going back out to the Boys School in August.  The Keep It Holy Workshop held here last weekend went very well.  He attended the concert at the Worland Middle School Sunday night and it was great.  He has been attending Wyoming Equality meeting with other priests via zoom.  The museum is bringing an exhibit on The Sand Creek Massacre here in August of 2026 and is asking for some assistance in covering the costs.  Jim is looking into a possible grant to help with the cost.  He is still attending Standing Committee meetings.

2.                  Sr. Warden's Report-Shirley Wildman:  Shirley reported that she attended a 4 hour zoom Diocesan Council meeting to discuss the budget. And possibly capping salaries at the diocesan office.  Also all churches will be getting a vitality assessment.  August 1st she will be attending a council meeting.

3.                  Jr. Warden's Report-Samantha Strickler:  Sam reported that she is still sanding windows.  Also the bells have been repaired and are back to striking on the hour.  The trees our front and along the driveway were diagnosed with a disease.  Ron Trimmed all the dead pieces off and applied the medicine to them and will reapply in the fall.  Sam is getting bids to have the carpet in the Parish Hall cleaned.

4.                  Born Again-Shirley Wildman:  The store is having a sale on all clothing this week.  Shirley is working on getting the carpets cleaned during change over.
