Sacraments

St. Alban's Baptismal Font

Baptism

St. Alban’s Episcopal Church Offers the sacrament of Baptism, welcoming individuals into the Christian faith and the church community.  We baptize infants with the guidance of their parents and God parents.  We also affirm baptism for those that are unsure if they have been baptized.

Confirmation

Confirmation is a significant event at St. Alban’s, where individuals affirm their faith and commitment to the teachings of the Episcopal Church.  If you are interested in this rite, we will hold classes to help make you aware of our beliefs and get familiar with the Book of Common Prayer.  The bishop will then confirm you into the Episcopal church.

Communion Setting

 Holy Communion

Holy Eucharist is known as the Lord’s supper, Holy Communion, Divine Liturgy, the Mass, and the Great Offering.  The sacrament is commanded by Christ for the continual remembrance of his life, death, and resurrection, until his coming again.  We hold open communion inviting all baptized people to come forward to celebrate with us.  If you are not able to attend church we can bring it to you.

Wedding

Matrimony

St. Alban’s Episcopal Church offers the sacrament of Matrimony, uniting couples in a sacred covenant before God and the church community.  Classes will be held with the priest or deacon before the wedding to discuss some issues that the couple may not have discussed before marriage.  The marriage can also take place at our mountain church, St. Christopher’s in the Big Horns during July and August.  Other times of the year can be arranged but you run the risk of having the church blown over with snow.  Marriage at St. Christopher’s can be arranged to have an Episcopal priest perform the service or you can bring your own officiant.

Last Rites

We as Episcopalians refer to the Last Rites as Ministration at the Time of Death.  We will come to wherever a person is in need and administer Last Rites with the family and friends when available.  This is comforting for the family and the person going through this ordeal.

Communion

Funerals

St. Alban’s is available to celebrate the funeral rites for those that are members as well as those that belong to other faiths or beliefs.  We conduct the funeral with the family in mind and look to celebrate keeping their wishes and staying within our guidelines.

Healing

Unction is the term used by the Episcopal Church which means the rite of anointing the sick with oil, or the laying on of hands, by which God’s grace is given for the healing of spirit, mind, and body.  At St. Alban’s we visit many people that need that healing service both in the Sanctuary, at home or at the hospitals.  We are always available to serve those in need.
