Vestry Meeting
Minutes
March 16, 2026
Call Meeting to Order: Shirley
Opening Prayer: Carolyn
Vestry Members Present: Sam, Carolyn, Frank.
Others Present: The Rev. Jim Stewart.
On Zoom: Sarah, Doug & Shirley.
Absent: Diana
Approve Current Agenda (Amendments/Changes, etc.) Carolyn made a motion to approve the current agenda with additions. Jim seconded and the motion carried
Approve Minutes: Doug made a motion to approve the minutes from the meeting on February 9, 2026. Frank seconded and the motion carried.
Treasurer's Report- Sarah Healy
Sam made a motion to accept the financials. Carolyn seconded and the motion carried.
Sargent Fund $16,000 of that was put in the church’s Ameriprise Fund to avoid assessment until we use it. $10,400 was a pledge that also went to the church savings to be spent and assessed later.
Old Business:
1. Zoom Account for Jim: Going to set it up next week.
New Business
1. Executive Session: Carolyn made a motion that we go into executive session. Sam seconded and the motion carried.
Carolyn made the motion that we resume our regular vestry meeting. Sam seconded and the motion carried.
2. Money from Pancake Supper: Frank made a motion that the $829.24 made from the pancake supper after bills be given to the priests Discretionary Fund. Carolyn seconded and the motion carried.
3. Sarah’s Bond: After some discussion Doug made a motion that we pay Sarah’s bond that is required for a treasurer in the amount of $300. Frank seconded and the motion was carried.
4. Letter for Museum Grant: Shirley asked that we sign the letter that will be submitted with the grant. The display is coming from Denver and will be at our museum August-October. The museum is asking that we help them get the word out to community, schools, etc.
5. Second Lawnmower: It was brought to our attention that Jack Porter had a lawn mower that he wanted the church to have. It was agreed that we would take a look at it.
6. Bylaws in Reference to Vestry Members: Currently our bylaws state for example married couples cannot serve together. The Vestry has decided it is time to review our bylaws in reference vestry members. We will do this at the next meeting.
Reports:
1. Rector’s Report-The Rev. Jim Stewart: Jim reported that we had one funeral last month. Bible study has been following Revelations. He will not be in the office March 18th & 19th. We will be hosting the Community Good Friday Service. ECW will be providing a lunch afterwards. Maundy Thursday Service and agape meal will be April 2nd at 6:00pm. Stations of the Cross will be April 3rd at 6:00pm. Easter Vigil will be April 4th at 6:00pm. Ministerial Association has cards available with Jim that are for pizza purchased on April 6th and 20% will go to the food pantry. He has been visiting the nursing home.
2. Sr. Warden's Report-Shirley Wildman: Shirley reported that she has continued to work with the museum on the grant.
3. Jr. Warden's Report-Samantha Strickler: Sam had nothing to report.
4. Born Again-Shirley Wildman: Born Again reopens tomorrow after their change over.
5. ECW Report- Shirley Wildman: ECW will be providing the lunch after the Good Friday Service.
6. Congregational Care Team: They will be meeting April 7th at 9:00am.
7. Vestry Reports: Carolyn reported that the Food Bank will be here April 1st. Frank attended the Hanover Canal meeting.
