Rector's Rambling

There are times in our church that we find it hard to let go.  This month we will lose two of our members.  Ann and Andy joined us last year as devoted members and it was a pleasure to have them serve along with all of us.  They have been a musical force in our community playing and singing at a few venues as well as for our church at times over the past year.

They have decided to buy a home in Powell Wyoming which is a little closer to a daughter in Cody.  I do not think they will have any problem finding friends and a church as they are so outgoing in the communities.

I for one I am excited for them as they continue their journey through life.  Many blessings and prayers for their new adventures.

As two members left, Diana brought a friend to church, and we are very excited to get to know another new member wanting to be a part of our church.

As I think about the ebb and flow of a community I reflect upon God’s purpose for all of us as followers of God.  No matter where our members move to, they are always a part of our church family and leaving memories for us to reflect and smile on.  As I have moved all through Wyoming, Nebraska and Colorado churches I always remember the friends and family I have made throughout the kingdom of God.  It is a journey making and finding new people throughout our lives.

We sometimes think that we should just make friends in the church and stay to our beliefs, but I have found that I also enjoy discussing the scriptures with those that have a totally different opinion of what the bible is saying to them as to how I believe.  That is what Jesus is all about.  Knowing that we can have totally different opinions and still respect each other.  It is the ebb and flow of knowledge as we find our own ways through life.

We are now in Lent, and it is a time to reflect and think about all that God has given us.  As a part of Lent, I have decided to thank Him every day for the acquaintances we have made in our lives and the joy that others have brought to us.  We have passed out names to the people in our church to pray for one another as we think about those we appreciate in our lives.  Many blessings and gratitude to all.
